Free Summer Camp

The Bridge Down East 21st Century Community Learning Center will offer a free summer camp from 6/23 - 7/31/2015, Monday through Thursdays 9:00 - 4:00 at Harkers Island Elementary School.  Transportation and lunch will be provided for students for this summer program. Please contact AES if you are interested in your child attending.

The SMU CSI Summer Camp is comprised of two week-long sessions (one for girls and one for boys) where kids will have the opportunity to explore the science and technology behind identification and crime solving.  Guest speakers include an FBI Agent, local Police, Dallas Explorers, K-9 Unit, SWAT Team, NamUS, Texas Rangers, and a Psychophysiologist. Campers participate in Face, Speech Iris Recognition, Fingerprint Dusting and Sensor labs, Paper Chromatography, Bone Identification, DNA Extraction and Electrophoresis, a GPS Activity and the Psychology of Deception.

Eligibility: Camp is open to all girls and boys who will be entering the 6th and 7th grades in Fall 2015. *Please note that the same material, as in the past, will be presented during all weeks.

Cost: $225 (includes lunch and snacks) 

6th & 7th Grade Girls 
Week 1: (3 day camp) June 15th - 17th
Week 2: (3 day camp) July 13th - 15th

6th & 7th Grade Boys 
Week 1: (3 day camp) June 22nd - 24th
Week 2: (3 day camp) July 20th - 22nd
